Past Events

Tuesday 30th April 2024 from 15:30 -16:30

Join the Mercury Bay Library and Mercury Bay Museum as we learn to excavate, sift, sort and recreate like an archaeologist.

Archaeologists learn a lot from pottery fragments found in sites. Shape, material and decoration can reveal a vessels construction, function and age! Join us to ‘dig up’ a pot and see if you can recreate it and learn what it was used for.

You will also be able to create your own pot to take home.
