Join us to celebrate NZ Archaeology Week 2026 and learn more about maritime archaeology and the HMS Buffalo shipwreck

Friday 8th May & Saturday 9th May 2026

10am to 2pm

Interactive activities to learn more

Saturday includes a chance to dive or snorkel the wreck with maritime archaeology team – please bring your own dive/snorkel gear

The dive/snorkel is strictly weather & conditions permitting

Museum Explorers

We have a fantastic new kids club – Museum Explorers 🕵‍♂️🕵‍♀️!!

📔 There are passports to collect along with cool badges to add to them.

🔍 Neat adventures to go on with us at the Museum.

Come in for a visit and join them up – it’s FREE to join, FREE for them to visit but parents/guardians have a small fee to pay.
