HMS Buffalo

HMS Buffalo

The HMS Buffalo exhibition is an interactive, immersive story-telling experience that takes the visitor on the historical journey of the HMS Buffalo. Immersed in the HMS Buffalo’s origins, it’s purpose, and key historical events leading up to its wrecking in July 1840.

Using the central digital feature in the gallery, follow the HMS Buffalo as it travelled the world and be there on that fateful day as the ship makes it’s way into the bay to its final resting place.

Additional touchscreens add to the visitor experience as you search the passenger lists and learn about the people that were onboard the ship all for very different reasons.

The HMS Buffalo Re-examination Project has provided maritime archaeology information to learn about the wreck today and look at the ecosystem that has been created just a stone’s throw from the beach now called Buffalo Beach.

A permanent gallery space to immerse our visitors in our rich maritime history.
