To commemorate 185 years since the wrecking of the HMS Buffalo, join us for the screening of the amazing documentary by Deke Richards – A Land of a Thousand Sorrows Revisited.
Follow the unknown and untold story of the Canadian patriots from lower and upper Canada who were exiled to a penal colony of Australia on the HMS Buffalo from 1840 to 1848 and their legacy today.
Join us after the screening for a presentation from the HMS Buffalo Re-examination Project team. The team will give an update on where the project is at and what is coming up next.
Tickets are $12 each and are available from @ MTC- Mercury Twin Cinemas, Whitianga – online or in person.
